Cub Scout Pack 33 - Takoma Park, MD

Welcome!

Consider Cub Scouts!  Scouts in Pack 33 can expect fun, educational, and service-oriented activities throughout the year.  Scouts can expect to attend an interactive meeting about once a month (usually on Sunday afternoons) and to attend another activity (e.g. den meeting or event) during the same timeframe.  

Pack 33 welcomes boys from Kindergarten through 5th grade from all backgrounds in the greater Takoma Park, Silver Spring and Washington, D.C. area.  Meetings are generally held at Takoma Park Presbyterian Church, 310 Tulip Avenue, Takoma Park, MD  20912, or a nearby location (we like to be outside when possible!)

How We're Organized

Pack 33 has a long history in Takoma Park - we have proudly served the community since 1939!  

Our pack generally includes around 60+ boys from grades K through 5.  A Cubmaster leads the Pack with support from a volunteer Pack Committee. The Pack is further broken down into “Dens” according to Cub Scout ranks.  The ranks include:

• Kindergarteners – Lions

• 1st Graders – Tigers

• 2nd Graders – Wolves

• 3rd Graders – Bears

• 4th Graders – Webelos I (1st Year)

• 5th Graders – Webelos  II (2nd Year)


Each den has approximately 10 - 15 scouts. A Den leader and one Assistant Den Leader, who are the principal leaders of the Dens, managing the den's activities.

Meetings

Dens generally meet 1-2 times a month. The location for Den meetings vary depending on meeting topic and weather - but most/all are held in Takoma Park.

Throughout the year various activities are held that involve the entire Pack.  Typical activities planned during a year include camping trips, community service events (e.g. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service), group picnics, museum visits, hikes, and the ever-popular Pinewood derby race. Ideas for other activities either for Dens or the Pack are always welcome as we plan our annual calendar together.
