4th of July Parade

Pack 33 & Troop 33 Family!

I hope your summer is off to a great start. 🔆😎

It's that time of year again... 4th of July Parade, a great community event where we get to show off & share our scout pride within our community! 🎉

Pack 33 and Troop 33 are marching in the Takoma Park 4th of July Parade, Thursday! We will line up with Division 2 on Manor Circle. The Parade starts at 10:00 a.m.

Remember this counts for the summertime award for your cub scout, so you are highly encouraged to attend!

Want to help? 🤝🏼

If you have a truck or can drive one to transport Soapbox Derby cars Wednesday evening OR have a pull wagon we can use to have kids put their water bottles into OR can help with the water cooler, PLEASE let me know ASAP!

Directions ↘

  • Arrive early-- meeting spot is 212 Manor Circle. Parking is very limited and all main roads around the parade route will be closed at 9:00. Please arrive at the staging area between 9:00 and 9:30 to ensure that the Parade can start on time.

  • Scouts should wear their FULL Class A uniform (including neckerchief, shorts, shirt). If they don't have a uniform, please don't let this be a barrier & still come. (Cub Scouts can contact the Cubmaster about getting a uniform shirt from the uniform bank if time allows).

  • Siblings and parents are welcome to march, too. Wear a Class B T-shirt, if you have one. Otherwise, please try to wear a blue shirt for cub scouts or red shirt for boy scouts.

  • "Be prepared" for the weather; wear sunscreen and a hat. If rain is forecast, have an umbrella or rain gear handy. (Row boats optional, just kidding - the parade will not happen if there is lots of rain-- which they will post on their website (linked below)).

  • Bring plenty of water. Don’t forget your water bottle-- it's going to be hot and we don't want anyone dehydrated! So please bring a full water bottle for each person. The Pack/Troop will try to have a water wagon on hand with extra water.

  • Bring a healthy dose of patience. There tends to be a lot of waiting around for the Parade to start.

  • Plan to pick up your child(ren) at the intersection of Maple and Ritchie Avenues at the end of the Parade. This is marked on the attached map with a yellow rectangle labelled “H2O Stand”.

If you have questions or need to reach a leader on the day of the Parade, please contact Cubmaster Ms Victoria Eisenberg, 831-419-4001 or Scoutmaster Mr Johan Hammerstrom, 202-413-8635
